Exploring Sync Module Compatibility and Local Storage Solutions

Hi everyone, I’m diving into the world of Blink cameras and the Hubitat ecosystem, and I have a few questions that I hope the community can help me with. I’ve been using Blink Outdoor Cameras and Doorbell for a while now, linked to my Sync Module 1. Everything worked smoothly until my subscription changed, and now the Blink devices no longer record. I understand that subscription changes can affect features, but I’m looking for ways to get back the functionality I had before.

I’ve heard that purchasing a Sync Module 2 and a memory card could allow me to store footage locally. My first question is: Is this setup feasible? Do I need both the Sync Module 2 and a memory card to enable local storage for my Blink devices? And if so, how exactly does this integration work with my existing Sync Module 1?

Another thing I’m curious about is whether Sync Module 1 and Sync Module 2 can coexist on the same network. I’d love to keep my current setup intact while adding the new module for local storage. Would this cause any conflicts or interfere with the performance of my existing devices?

I’ve also been exploring the Hubitat app and its automation capabilities. It’s impressive how much you can customize your home setup, but I’ve run into a few hiccups along the way. For instance, I have a room light setup that includes a Zigbee outlet controlling a plant light. The automation works perfectly when I’m actively toggling the lights, but after leaving the room for a while, the outlet doesn’t always respond to the off command. It’s a minor inconvenience, but I’d love to figure out why this happens and how to resolve it.

I’ve tried troubleshooting by reviewing logs and re-adding the device, but the issue persists. It seems like the app isn’t issuing the off command consistently, even though the device works flawlessly when controlled directly. I’m wondering if there’s a setting or a workaround within the app that could help stabilize this automation.

On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with the new SmartThings app and its integration with Alexa. It’s amazing how seamlessly everything connects, but I’ve noticed some quirks, especially with older devices. I’d love to hear others’ experiences with app integrations and any tips they have for optimizing performance.

I’m also curious about others’ experiences with local storage solutions and managing multiple sync modules. Have you encountered any challenges or found any innovative workarounds? I’d appreciate any insights or recommendations the community can offer.

Thank you all for your time and help. It’s incredible to be part of such a supportive and knowledgeable community!
