Exploring the Aqara W100: A Smart Climate Sensor with Thermostat Potential

I’m excited to share this insightful video review of the Aqara W100, a climate sensor with thermostat potential. The video delves into its features, integration capabilities, and automation possibilities, making it a valuable resource for Aqara enthusiasts.

The Aqara W100 offers a built-in screen, temperature control buttons, and the potential to act as a thermostat. While it currently lacks some thermostat functionalities, its integration with smart home systems like Apple Home and its automation capabilities make it a versatile device. The video also explores how it can control heating through smart plugs and create automation scenarios.

What are your thoughts on the Aqara W100’s potential as a thermostat? Have you integrated similar sensors into your smart home setup? Share your experiences and ideas for using this device in the comments below!

The W100 needs to expose an automation trigger when the sensor temperature is above and/or below the set temperature.

It is a trivial software addition and would allow the W100 to be used as a central heating boiler thermostat for on/off boilers (with a relay), and thus competitive with nest / tado etc.
