Exploring the Benefits of Group Automation in Home Assistant

As a homeowner with a growing collection of smart devices, I’ve always been on the lookout for ways to streamline my home automation setup. After experiencing multiple issues with unreliable devices, such as tuya power plugs and shelly devices, I decided to take a different approach. My kitchen automation, which relies on groups of devices like lights, motion sensors, and light sensors, has proven to be much more manageable and scalable compared to individual device references. This experience led me to a bold decision: using groups for everything, even single devices, to simplify future updates and replacements. I’m curious to hear if others have adopted similar strategies and whether there are potential downsides I should be aware of. Have you found groups to be a reliable solution, or are there scenarios where they might not be the best choice?
