Hi everyone, I’m currently in the market for a new room thermostat to replace my old mechanical one. I’ve been reading through some forums and it seems like there’s been a lot of progress in this space over the past few years. However, I’m specifically looking for a device that doesn’t rely on cloud connectivity—something that can be controlled locally through Home Assistant.
The ideal solution for me would be a thermostat that can be easily monitored and controlled wirelessly but also has a physical display showing the current temperature, target temperature, and whether it’s been adjusted manually or remotely. I’d love it if manual adjustments could override any wireless commands, giving me full control when I need it.
I stumbled upon the Drayton RTS1 model, which seems to fit my needs, but I’m not sure if it’s compatible with Home Assistant. Has anyone had success integrating a similar device? I’d also appreciate any recommendations for other models that might meet my criteria.
It would be fantastic if such a device existed out of the box, but I’m also open to any DIY solutions if nothing off-the-shelf fits the bill. Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated! Looking forward to hearing from you all. ![]()
