Hi everyone! I’m in the market for a Z-Wave stick and I wanted to share my research and thoughts with you. My main goals are to update Z-Wave device firmware and analyze/diagnose mesh issues. Plus, I’m using a Mac, so compatibility is key.
I came across the Aeotec Z-Stick Gen5+ and it seems like a solid choice. It’s known for its reliability and works well with Home Assistant’s Z-Wave JS integration. But I’m curious—what do you guys recommend? Have you had good experiences with other sticks like the Z-Wave.Me or the Sigma Designs?
Another thing I’m considering is the software ecosystem. I’ve heard that Z-Wave Tools is great for firmware updates and mesh analysis. Does anyone have tips on the best tools to use with a Mac? I’d love to hear about your setups and any troubleshooting tips you might have.
