Exploring the Bosch Indego S+ mower widget and its versatility

Hi everyone, I’ve recently come across this fantastic widget for the Bosch Indego S+ mower, and I’m absolutely thrilled to share my experience with you! The widget, which is based on the indego thing of the Indego Binding, not only displays the status of my mower but also allows me to control it with command buttons, which is a huge plus. I’ve attached some screenshots below to give you a better idea of how it looks and functions.

One of the things I love most about this widget is its adaptability. Although it was designed for the Bosch Indego S+, I’ve heard that it can potentially work with other mowers as well. I’m eager to test this out with my neighbor’s mower to see if it’s compatible. If it works, that would be an amazing way to streamline our lawn care routines!

The widget’s changelog shows that it’s been continuously improved. Version 0.3 added command buttons, which makes controlling the mower much more convenient. Version 0.2 introduced a popup that displays a bigger map, which is incredibly helpful for visualizing the mowing area. And version 0.1 was the initial release that laid the groundwork for everything we have now.

For those who might be interested in trying this out, here’s a link to the indego.yaml file. I’d recommend checking it out and seeing how it integrates with your setup.

I must say, integrating this widget into my openHAB setup has been a breeze. The ability to monitor and control my mower directly from my smartphone has added a whole new level of convenience to my gardening routine. It’s also been a great learning experience, as I’ve had to delve into the configuration details to get everything working smoothly.

If anyone has any questions or experiences to share about using this widget or similar setups, I’d love to hear from you! Let’s continue to explore and innovate together in the world of smart gardening.

Happy mowing everyone! :ear_of_rice::herb:
