Exploring the Efficiency of GE/Jasco Z-Wave Plus Devices

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of Z-Wave Plus devices lately, and I’m curious about the power consumption claims of the newer GE/Jasco products. I’ve been using the original Z-Wave line for a while now, and I’ve noticed they consistently draw around 1.5 watts when on and 1 watt when off. The new Z-Wave Plus models are said to use 50% less power, but I’m eager to confirm these numbers myself.

I’ve been using a Kill-A-Watt Meter to measure power consumption, and I’ve found that the initial readings were a bit misleading because the meter itself was drawing 3 watts. After recalculating based on amperage and voltage, I got a clearer picture. I’d love to hear from others who might have tested these newer devices and can share their findings.

Additionally, I’m curious about the power draw of the switches with built-in motion sensors. How much do they consume compared to the standard switches? Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to hearing from the community on this. Let’s explore and learn together! :rocket:
