Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my recent experience with the GoControl GC-TBZ48 thermostat. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now, and overall, it’s been a fantastic addition to my smart home setup. The ability to control the thermostat remotely and integrate it with my existing smart devices has made managing my home’s temperature so much easier and more efficient.
One feature I’m particularly impressed with is the fan control. After rewiring my thermostat with a 5-wire setup, I was able to enable the fan as a circulation option, which has been especially helpful during the colder months. It’s great to have that extra level of control over my home’s heating system.
However, there’s one small issue I’ve been trying to figure out. I’ve noticed that the thermostat’s backlight doesn’t stay on as I’d like it to. I’ve tried setting it to stay on all the time, but it only lasts for about 10 seconds before turning off. I’ve heard that newer firmware versions might have addressed this limitation, but I’m not entirely sure if my current firmware is the latest one. My firmware version is 022200. Does anyone know if this is the most up-to-date version available?
I’ve also been curious about the difference between the GC-TBZ48 and the GC-TBZ48L models. If anyone has insights on that, I’d love to hear more. It would be great to know if upgrading to the L model would offer any significant improvements or additional features.
Overall, I’m really happy with the GoControl GC-TBZ48 thermostat, and I’m hopeful that a firmware update might resolve the backlight issue. If anyone has any tips or advice, please feel free to share!
Best regards,
