The recent V7 update for the Govee app has been a breath of fresh air for me. As someone who’s been using Govee devices for a while now, I was excited to dive into the new features and see how they could enhance my smart home setup. After a few days of exploring, I must say, I’m thoroughly impressed!
One of the standout improvements is the redesigned device page. The ability to resize cards is a game-changer, especially for those of us with less-than-perfect vision. I love how the power button is now immediately visible with a clear blue or grey indicator—much better than trying to gauge the color from across the room. However, I do wish the card resizing interface had a bit more finesse and supported more devices like fans and purifiers.
The lighting category has been a bit overwhelming for me in the past, but I appreciate the effort to make it more organized. While I understand Govee’s extensive lineup, having subcategories like bulbs and strips would make navigation even smoother. It would also be fantastic to customize groupings for bulk actions, like resizing all bulb cards at once.
Overall, the V7 update feels like a significant step forward. The app is more intuitive, and the visual improvements make managing my devices a breeze. If you haven’t updated yet, I highly recommend giving it a try—it’s definitely worth the time!
