Exploring the Integration of Smart Thermostats and Home Automation Systems

As I continue my journey into the world of smart home automation, I’ve been particularly fascinated by the integration of smart thermostats with platforms like Hubitat. I recently acquired the Beok Tuya ZigBee Smart Thermostat Heating Thermostat and have been working on getting it fully integrated into my system. While the thermostat itself works perfectly, connecting it to my Hubitat setup has been a bit of a puzzle. I’ve managed to get it recognized, but it appears as a generic device, which limits its functionality. I’d love to hear from others who have successfully integrated this or similar thermostats into their systems—what steps did you take? Any tips or resources would be greatly appreciated! :rocket:

Moving on to another topic, I’ve been experimenting with time-based automation for my Sonoff devices. I’m aiming to create a schedule that activates certain outlets at night when electricity rates are lower. However, I’ve encountered some challenges with maintaining the schedule, especially when devices go offline. I’m curious if others have implemented similar systems and how they’ve handled such issues. Additionally, I’d love to know if there’s a more user-friendly way to set up these automations, perhaps through a rule machine or even a simple app interface. The goal is to make this system accessible not just for me, but also for my partner, who isn’t as tech-savvy. :clock3:

Lastly, I wanted to share my experience with the Govee Smart Gooseneck Kettle. It’s been a fantastic addition to my kitchen, offering the convenience of remote control and precise temperature settings. However, I did run into an issue where the kettle turned on accidentally, and it took a while to cool down and ensure it was completely off. This made me think about the importance of a stronger or clearer “off” button in the design. I’ve since adjusted my usage to avoid such mishaps, but I’d love to see Govee consider this feedback in future updates. Overall, though, I’m thoroughly enjoying this device and the ease it brings to my morning routine! :coffee:

If anyone has insights or experiences to share on these topics, I’d be happy to hear from you! Let’s continue to explore and optimize our smart home setups together. :house::sparkles:
