The release of Home Assistant 2024.4 has brought some exciting new features that have really enhanced my smart home setup!
I wanted to share my experience and thoughts on these updates, especially the Floors, Labels, and Categories features, as well as the new Map and Webpage Dashboards.
First off, the Floors feature has completely transformed how I organize my smart home devices. Being able to categorize devices based on their location within my home makes navigation so much easier. I especially love how it integrates with automations and scenes, allowing me to create more tailored experiences for each area of my house.
The Labels and Categories features have also been a game-changer. Assigning labels to devices helps me keep everything neatly organized, and the Categories feature has streamlined how I manage automations, scenes, and scripts. It’s like having a personal assistant that helps me stay on top of everything! ![]()
The new Map and Webpage Dashboards are another highlight. The Map Dashboard is perfect for visualizing my smart devices across different rooms, and the Webpage Dashboard has made it easier than ever to integrate external content and services into my setup. No more need for iframes! ![]()
I’d love to hear how others are using these new features. Have you discovered any tips or tricks that make your smart home even more efficient? Let’s share and learn together! ![]()
