Exploring the New Automation Delay Feature in Wiser Home App

I recently noticed that the Wiser Home app had been updated to version 6.12.0, and I was intrigued by the mention of a ‘Delay option for automation’ in the release notes. I immediately hopped into the app to explore this new feature, but to my surprise, I couldn’t find any indication of it on the Automations page. This left me a bit puzzled and eager to learn more about what this delay option could offer.

After spending some time searching online, I realized that detailed release notes for Wiser Home aren’t easily accessible, which is a bit frustrating. However, this curiosity led me to think about how such a delay feature could enhance my current setup. For instance, I could imagine setting up an automation where my lights dim slightly before turning off completely, creating a smooth transition rather than an abrupt change.

I also recalled seeing another user’s post about configuring Aeotec aerQ Temperature & Humidity Sensors in Home Assistant. They mentioned wanting to regularly read temperature and humidity data and output it to a file for their web page. This got me thinking about how integrating different devices and features could create a more cohesive smart home ecosystem.

Another interesting topic I came across was about sending Wunderground temperature data to a KNX-Bus. The user shared their configuration and the challenges they faced with continuous writes to the bus. It made me realize the importance of thorough testing and understanding the underlying systems when integrating different technologies.

Reflecting on these experiences, I believe that while the Wiser Home app’s new delay feature is intriguing, the lack of detailed documentation might hinder its adoption. I’m hopeful that future updates will include more comprehensive guides or community discussions to help users unlock the full potential of such features.

In the meantime, I’m excited to continue exploring other aspects of my smart home setup and learning from the experiences shared by others in the community. It’s amazing how much we can achieve by combining different devices and automations, even without the latest features!

If anyone has insights into the delay option or tips on how to effectively combine various smart home elements, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
