I recently came across the new Ecobee Video Doorbell and was intrigued by its features. While it’s great to see it supports HomeKit, I’m curious about the lack of HomeKit Secure Video (HSV) initially. I wonder if this will be added in future updates, as seen with their Smart Camera. The doorbell offers a wide viewing angle and 1080p recording, which seems perfect for monitoring my home effectively. However, the need for hard-wiring might be a downside for some users.
On another note, I’ve been working on setting up some automations and ran into a common issue. When trying to use an input number to set the temperature, I kept getting errors. After some research and help from the community, I figured out that using a template with {{states('input_number.morning_temp') | float}} was the right approach. It’s amazing how a small tweak can make everything work smoothly!
