I recently came across the exciting news about Apple’s new HomeKit Accessory Development Kit, and I must say, it’s got me really excited about the future of smart home integration. The idea that developers can now streamline the process of creating HomeKit-compatible devices by reducing the development cycle from a year down to just three months is absolutely groundbreaking. This could mean more innovative devices hitting the market much faster, which is great news for all of us who love to experiment with the latest smart home tech.
One feature that particularly caught my eye was the introduction of remote control support. While I haven’t had the chance to test this out firsthand yet, the potential for integrating IR or RF-based devices into the HomeKit ecosystem is enormous.
