Phoscon Home introduces a fresh take on how we interact with our smart devices. The dashboard organizes your devices into rooms, making navigation much more intuitive. Whether you’re controlling lights, thermostats, or blinds, everything is just a swipe or tap away. The interface is clean, and the ability to drag and drop devices into different rooms is a game-changer for those of us who like to tweak our setups frequently.
One feature that really caught my eye is the quick device bar at the bottom of the screen. It provides a snapshot of all your devices, and you can expand it to access more detailed controls. This is perfect for quick adjustments without diving into multiple menus.
Migration Process
For those already using Phoscon, migrating to the new dashboard is straightforward, thanks to the migration assistant. It allows you to convert existing groups into rooms or add them as subgroups. Importantly, this process doesn’t affect your RestAPI or deCONZ backend, so your scenes, schedules, and automations remain intact.
However, I’d strongly recommend creating a backup before diving in. It’s always good to have a safety net, just in case.
My Experience So Far
I’ve been using the beta version for a week now, and the biggest advantage I’ve noticed is the reduced clutter. Everything feels more organized, and I can access my devices faster. The ability to set favorite sensor values for each room is a nice touch, as it provides a quick glance at important metrics like temperature or humidity.
One minor tweak I’d love to see is the ability to customize the layout of the quick device bar. Right now, it’s a bit rigid, but I’m sure future updates will address this.
