Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the new Tasmota integration in Home Assistant 0.117.0! I’ve been using Tasmota switches for a while now, and they’ve been working perfectly with MQTT. But I was curious to see if switching to the built-in Tasmota integration would offer any benefits or make my setup more streamlined.
Initially, I was a bit hesitant because I didn’t want to disrupt my existing setup. But after doing some research, I decided to give it a try. I followed the setup guide and was impressed by how smooth the process was. The integration recognized my devices almost instantly, and I didn’t have to worry about configuring an external MQTT broker anymore.
One thing I noticed right away is the improved UI and device management within Home Assistant. It’s much more user-friendly compared to the MQTT integration, and I can see all my Tasmota devices in one place. This has definitely made managing my smart home setup easier.
I also appreciate the additional features that come with the Tasmota integration, like better support for OTA updates and more detailed device information. It’s clear that the Home Assistant team put a lot of thought into making this integration robust and user-friendly.
That said, I did encounter a few minor hiccups during the initial setup. For example, some devices took a bit longer to connect, and I had to restart the integration a couple of times. But overall, it was a minor inconvenience, and the benefits of the new integration far outweighed any temporary issues.
If you’re using Tasmota devices and haven’t tried the new integration yet, I highly recommend giving it a shot! It’s a great way to simplify your setup and take full advantage of all the features Home Assistant has to offer.
Let me know if anyone has questions or experiences to share about their Tasmota integration journey—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
