Hello everyone! I wanted to share my recent journey into the world of automation and renewable energy. I’ve been diving into the integration of my PV system, Varta battery storage, and Fronius Wattpiloten with Home Assistant, and it’s been both exciting and challenging.
The goal here is to optimize my energy usage by leveraging the surplus energy from my PV system. Specifically, I want to automate the charging of my Wattpiloten based on the excess energy produced. Depending on the wattage, I’d like to adjust the number of phases and the charging current. Through manual configurations in the frontend, I’ve managed to get some functionality working, but I’m hitting a snag when trying to implement this through the automations.yaml file.
Has anyone successfully integrated similar systems and managed to automate such processes? I’d love to hear about your experiences, challenges, and solutions. Whether it’s through custom scripts, integrations, or clever automations, I’m all ears!
