Exploring the Potential of Blisslights Skylights Integration

I’ve recently come across the Blisslights Skylights and am absolutely intrigued by their potential for enhancing my smart home setup. While the current workaround using a smart plug gets the job done, it’s far from ideal. The fact that the Skylights don’t remember their last state or allow color adjustments without opening the app is a bit of a letdown. However, I’m hopeful that with the addition of Bluetooth as an official integration in Home Assistant, there might be a way to bridge this gap.

I’ve started exploring the possibilities of custom integrations and automations, though I’m still in the early stages. It would be fantastic if the community could come together to develop a more seamless integration. Imagine being able to control the Skylights directly from the HA interface, preserving their last state and allowing for color adjustments without needing to open another app. That would truly elevate the smart home experience!

In the meantime, I’m experimenting with different automation scripts to see if I can mimic some of the desired behaviors. While it’s a bit of a hack, it’s been a valuable learning experience. I’d love to hear from others who might have tackled similar challenges or have insights into how we could push this integration forward. Let’s keep the conversation going and see what we can create together!
