Hey everyone, I’ve been really intrigued by the idea of using NFC tags to play movies on my main TV. I came across the Adonno NFC reader and thought it would be a fun project to set up. The concept is to have all my DVDs represented as NFC cards, which I can simply scan to play the corresponding movie.
I did some research, but it seems like there’s not a lot of solid information out there on how to integrate this with Plex and Home Assistant. I was thinking of using the Plex API to trigger the playback, but I’m not entirely sure how to set that up. Has anyone else tried something similar or have any tips?
It would be amazing to have this system working seamlessly. Imagine walking into the living room, scanning a card, and having the movie start automatically. It would be a great way to organize my media collection and make it more accessible for everyone in the family.
