As I delve deeper into the world of smart home automation, I’ve been particularly impressed by the versatility and ease of use offered by Govee and Shelly devices. My journey began with the Govee Smart Tower Fan 2, which has proven to be a fantastic addition to my home, providing both efficient cooling and seamless integration with my smartphone. The ability to control it through the Govee app has made managing my environment much simpler and more enjoyable.
Recently, I’ve been exploring the integration of Shelly devices into my setup. The Shelly BLU TRV and Door/Window sensor combination seems promising, but I’m encountering some unexpected behavior. When I open a window, I’d expect the thermostat to automatically switch to a temporary low temperature setting, but this doesn’t seem to be happening. I’ve tried setting up a rule through the app, but the only action available is ‘OnChange’, which doesn’t differentiate between opening and closing actions. Is there a way to achieve this without resorting to custom scripts?
Another area I’m curious about is the possibility of using an Android tablet as a bridge to connect Bluetooth-enabled devices, like the FLUX Bluetooth bulb, to my SmartThings ecosystem. While the SmartThings hub doesn’t natively support Bluetooth, perhaps there’s a workaround using existing hardware like a mounted tablet. This could be a creative solution for those looking to expand their smart lighting options without adding more hubs.
I’d love to hear from others who have successfully integrated multiple brands or found innovative solutions to similar challenges. Let’s continue to explore and share our experiences to make our smart homes even smarter and more user-friendly!
