As a long-time enthusiast of smart home technology, I’ve recently been on a journey to explore and integrate various devices into my daily life. Let me share some of my experiences and thoughts with you all!
One of the most exciting additions to my setup has been the Govee Evangelien Gaming Wall Light. The unboxing experience was fantastic, and the design is simply stunning. It’s not just a light; it’s a statement piece that adds a touch of elegance to my gaming setup. The RGB effects are vibrant and customizable, making it perfect for creating immersive gaming environments. I’ve already experimented with different color schemes, and the results have been nothing short of amazing!
However, not everything has been smooth sailing. I recently encountered an issue with my Shelly RGBW2 device. While the colors red, blue, and green display beautifully, there’s a noticeable green tint when switching to yellow. This makes it challenging to achieve that perfect warm orange glow I’m aiming for. I’m curious if others have faced similar challenges and if there’s a way to calibrate the colors or if this might be something Shelly could address in future firmware updates.
Another area I’ve been exploring is camera functionality. I’ve been using the Wyze Cam Pan, and while it’s a reliable device, I’ve noticed that it only retains one day of notification videos before deleting them. This is a bit concerning, as I’d prefer to have a longer retention period for security purposes. I’ve reached out to support, but no resolution yet. If anyone has insights or workarounds, I’d be grateful to hear them!
Lastly, I’ve been working on optimizing my Linear Garage Door Openers. They’ve been functioning flawlessly, but the response time could be quicker. When I command them to open or close, there’s a brief delay before the door starts moving. I’m wondering if there’s a way to reduce this delay and improve the overall experience. Additionally, after operating the door via my Vera controller, there’s a downtime period before I can use Vera again. Shortening this downtime would be a significant improvement.
Overall, my journey into the world of smart home technology has been both rewarding and challenging. Each device I integrate brings new possibilities and occasionally new puzzles to solve.
