Recently, I stumbled upon the Govee Chromatica Series and decided to dive into the world of smart lighting DIYs. This series has been a fantastic way to explore the creative possibilities of RGBIC LED strips and similar devices. The focus on single-color effects with subtle brightness variations has opened up a whole new dimension of lighting design for me. 
One of the most exciting aspects of this series is how it challenges you to think differently about color combinations. Instead of relying on gradients or multiple colors, the emphasis is on playing with shades and tones within a single color family. This approach not only simplifies the process but also allows for more nuanced and artistic effects. For example, experimenting with different shades of red can create a fiery or soft glow, depending on the brightness settings. 
I’ve been working on creating 12 different shades, which I’ll be sharing in groups of four over the next few days. It’s been a rewarding experience, and I’m excited to see how others in the community interpret and build upon these ideas.
