As a long-time enthusiast of smart home technology, I’ve recently delved into the world of color-changing bulbs, specifically the Wyze Color Bulbs. While they’ve exceeded my expectations in terms of brightness and color variety, there’s one feature that’s been on my mind—custom automation with rules and triggers.
The bulbs integrate seamlessly with Google Home and allow for voice control, which is fantastic. However, the inability to change colors through rules or schedules is a bit puzzling. For instance, I’d love to have my lights turn blue when the garage door opens or cycle through colors during a party.
I’m curious if others have found workarounds or if this is a common limitation across budget-friendly smart bulbs. Have any of you managed to achieve similar functionality with other brands or through third-party apps? I’d love to hear your experiences and tips!
In the meantime, I’m thoroughly enjoying the vibrant colors and the fact that they’re a fraction of the cost of higher-end options. It’s a great way to experiment with smart lighting without breaking the bank.
