Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to share my experience with the Wyze Cam v4 and to see if anyone else has encountered or resolved a particular issue I’m facing. As someone who’s been using Wyze cameras for a while now, I’ve always appreciated their reliability and ease of use. However, the new Cam v4 has presented a challenge that I can’t seem to shake off.
I live in New York City, where constant street traffic is a given. To minimize unnecessary notifications, I’ve been using the Detection Zone feature to focus only on my doorstep. This worked perfectly with the Cam v3, but with the Cam v4, it’s a different story. Even after lowering the sensitivity to the lowest setting, the camera still detects activity outside the designated zone. It’s frustrating because it defeats the purpose of setting up a detection zone in the first place.
I’ve tried reaching out to Wyze support, but they haven’t provided a clear solution yet. I’m wondering if I’m the only one experiencing this or if others have found a workaround. Have any of you successfully configured the Cam v4’s detection zone without running into this issue? I’d love to hear your tips or insights!
On a more positive note, I wanted to mention how much I enjoy the Wyze app’s interface and the camera’s overall performance otherwise. It’s just this one hiccup that’s been a bit of a nuisance. I’m hopeful that with the community’s help, we can find a way to optimize the detection zone functionality.
Thanks in advance for your advice and experiences! Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other troubleshoot these smart home gadgets. Happy smart home hacking! ![]()
