Hey everyone, I’ve been using Vera Plus for a while now at two different locations, and I’m really enjoying its flexibility and reliability. However, I’m now considering switching one of my setups from my current ADT system to Vera’s live monitoring service. I’ve heard great things about VeraProtect, but I’m still a bit unclear on some details. Here are a few questions I hope someone can help clarify:
-
Vera Plus vs Vera Secure: Can I continue using my Vera Plus for live monitoring, or will I need to upgrade to Vera Secure? I’d love to avoid the cost of a new device if possible.
-
3G Cellular Support: Is it possible to add 3G cellular connectivity to my Vera Plus? I’m in New Jersey and want to ensure reliable communication, especially during power outages.
-
Existing Sensors: My current wireless sensors are from ADT. Are they compatible with Vera’s system, or will I need to invest in new ones? If they aren’t compatible, do you have any recommendations for reasonably priced alternatives?
-
General Feedback: Any additional tips or experiences with Vera’s live monitoring would be fantastic. I’m really excited about making the switch but want to make sure I’m fully prepared!
Thanks in advance for your insights and advice. I’m looking forward to hearing from the community and hopefully taking the plunge into Vera’s live monitoring system! ![]()
