I’m really excited to share my recent experience with Vera and how it’s transforming the way I manage my rental properties. I’ve been using Vera for a while now, and while I’ve managed to get the basics down, I’m always looking for ways to push the system further.
Here’s my setup: I’ve got a Yale smart lock on the front door of one of my rental properties, connected to my Vera hub. The cleaner who comes in has her own code, which is great. But here’s where I’d like to take it to the next level. I want to set it up so that if the cleaner visits the house for the first time in a week, an automatic payment is made to her bank account from mine. This would streamline things a lot and save me from manually transferring the money each time.
On the Vera side, I think I can figure out how to track the lock usage and set up the conditions for the payment trigger. But I’m a bit stuck on how to actually execute the payment part. I’ve heard there might be PayPal extensions that could help, but I haven’t found anything concrete yet. Does anyone have experience with this or know of a reliable way to set it up?
I’d love to hear your thoughts and any suggestions you might have. It would be awesome to get this working and maybe even share the setup with others who might be looking to automate similar processes.
