Hi everyone, I’m currently in the market for a wireless security system and I’m particularly interested in how Vera can integrate with different systems. I’ve heard Vera is quite versatile, but I want to make sure it works seamlessly with the features I need. Here’s what I’m looking for:
- Avoid Monthly Monitoring Fees: I’d prefer a system that doesn’t require ongoing subscription costs.
- Wireless Door/Window Sensors: I need 15 of these to cover my home adequately.
- Motion Sensors: 4 of them to monitor key areas.
- Video Cameras: 4 cameras to keep an eye on everything.
- Phone Notifications: The system should be able to call my phone if there’s an alert.
- Z-Wave Integration: I have some Z-Wave switches and receptacles that I’d like to use with Vera, but I’m not sure how to configure them yet.
I’ve come across a few systems like the Honeywell Tuxedo, GE Simon XT, and ADT, but I’m not entirely sure which ones are compatible with Vera. My main questions are:
- Vera Compatibility: Which wireless security systems work well with Vera?
- Phone Calls: Can Vera make phone calls if the security system doesn’t have this feature built-in?
