Exploring Voice Message Broadcasting in Home Assistant

Hey everyone, I’ve been really excited to dive into the new features in Home Assistant, especially the ability to send voice messages to specific Echo devices. I’ve been using Home Assistant for a while now, and this update feels like a game-changer for my smart home setup!

I’ve got several Echo devices around the house—everything from the standard Echo Dots to a couple of higher-end models. The idea of being able to send a voice message to just one of them is super appealing. For example, I could send a reminder to the Echo in the kitchen without everyone else hearing it. But I’m a bit confused about how exactly to set this up.

From what I understand, you can now broadcast messages to any other smart speaker in the house. I’ve tried it out a bit, and it works well for sending messages to all devices at once. But I’m really interested in targeting specific ones. I’ve seen mentions of using media_player.alexa_tim as an example, but I’m not entirely sure how to configure this properly.

One thing I’m curious about is whether there are any limitations based on language or region. I’ve noticed that some features roll out differently depending on where you are, so I’d love to hear from others who might have more experience with this.

If anyone has successfully set this up, I’d love to hear about your experience! Whether it’s tips on configuration or just general thoughts on how this feature enhances your smart home setup, I’m all ears. Let’s keep the conversation going and make the most out of these new capabilities!

Cheers, and happy automating! :tada:
