Exploring Weather Automation and Device Integration

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all.

First off, I’ve been using Weather Underground to automate my smart screens—closing them when it’s sunny and opening them if it rains or the wind picks up. But lately, I’ve been running into this error: “Error while receiving weather forecast… This key is not valid due to exceeding rate plan.” I’m not sure if anyone else has encountered this or if there’s a workaround or alternative app that could help me achieve the same automation without hitting these limits. Any suggestions would be super appreciated!

On another note, I’ve been exploring the SMA Sunny Island system and trying to read out values like battery percentage and charging speed for some home automation tasks. I know it uses Modbus, but I’m a bit stuck on figuring out the right registers to access. If anyone has experience with this or knows a good resource, I’d love to hear about it.

Lastly, I’ve just set up a new IQ Panel 4, and it’s been a breeze to use—except for the time setting. It’s defaulting to ET, and I can’t seem to change it to my local time. If anyone has tips on how to adjust this, I’d be grateful!

I hope this helps spark some discussions and that I can learn from your experiences too. Let’s keep the smart home journey fun and productive! :rocket:
