Exploring Weather Data and Lighting Automation

Recently, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! One area I’ve been particularly focused on is integrating weather data to control my home’s lighting system. I stumbled upon the met.no weather service and was thrilled by its potential, but I quickly realized that the default update intervals weren’t quite meeting my needs. After some digging through the weather.py file, I managed to tweak the settings to get real-time updates, which has made a huge difference in how my lights respond to changing weather conditions.

Another project I’ve been working on is optimizing my lighting setup. I’ve been experimenting with different color modes and brightness levels to create a more ambiance-friendly environment. It’s amazing how a simple adjustment in lighting can completely transform the mood of a room. I’ve also been exploring the use of motion sensors to automate my lights, ensuring they turn on and off based on my presence.

I’d love to hear from others who have experience with similar setups—what tools or techniques have you found most effective? Whether it’s tips on fine-tuning weather integrations or creative ways to use lighting automation, I’m all ears! Let’s keep the conversation going and share our smart home successes and learnings. Happy automating! :rocket:
