Exploring Weather Stations and Smart Home Integration

Hi everyone, I’ve been exploring the world of smart home automation and weather monitoring lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with the community. :sun_with_face:

First, I’ve been looking into setting up a weather station at home. I’m interested in tracking metrics like temperature, humidity, UV index, wind speed, and rainfall. I’ve heard that some weather stations can integrate with OpenHAB, which would be perfect for my setup. Does anyone have any recommendations for affordable yet reliable weather stations that work well with OpenHAB? I’ve considered building something Arduino-based, but I’m worried it might end up being more expensive than a pre-built solution. Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated! :cloud_with_rain:

On another note, I’ve been trying to integrate my unRaid server with IP cameras and SmartThings for motion detection and recording. I’ve searched the community for solutions, but I haven’t found much relevant information. Has anyone successfully set up motion-triggered recordings to an unRaid server? If so, could you share your setup or any tips? :male_detective::male_sign:

Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with MQTT and OpenHAB. I’ve noticed an issue with my dimmer switches where they reset to 100% brightness instead of maintaining the last dimming level. I’ve checked the configuration and ensured the “Restore Last Dimming level on ON” option is enabled, but it doesn’t seem to work as expected. Is this a known bug, or am I missing something in the setup? Any workaround suggestions would be fantastic! :bulb:

I’d love to hear from anyone who has tackled similar projects or faced these challenges. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other out! :handshake:
