Exploring Wyze Cam Features: Motion Alerts and SD Recording

Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of Wyze cameras lately, and I’m absolutely blown away by their capabilities, especially considering the price point. I wanted to share my experience and some questions I have regarding motion alerts and SD card recording. :male_detective::male_sign:

I recently set up a Wyze cam in my backyard, and it’s been fantastic for keeping an eye on things. The motion detection works like a charm, and I love how it sends notifications to my phone. But here’s where I hit a slight snag: when motion is detected, it records a 15-second clip, but then there’s a 5-minute wait before it records again, even if motion continues. :arrows_counterclockwise:

My main concern is security. With recent break-ins in my neighborhood, I want to ensure I’m capturing the full picture. Is there a way to adjust the settings so that it records continuously during motion, rather than in short bursts?

I also have an SD card installed for local storage, which is great for privacy. But I’m curious if anyone has figured out a way to tie the camera into their local network, say, to a PC, so footage is stored there instead of the cloud. This would be a huge plus for remote access and peace of mind. :desktop_computer:

On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with the app’s settings and love how customizable everything is. The night vision is surprisingly good, and the video quality is crisp even in low light. It’s amazing how much technology has advanced in this space! :star_struck:

I’d love to hear from anyone who has tackled similar challenges or has tips for maximizing the Wyze cam’s features. Let’s keep the discussion going! :rocket:
