Hello everyone!
I’m thrilled to be part of this amazing community and can’t wait to dive into all the discussions and tips you have to share. I’ve been exploring the Wyze Cam recently and have a question that I hope you can help me with.
I’m really interested in using the Wyze Cam for surveillance, but I have a concern about data usage. My ISP is HughesNet Satellite, and I have a monthly data cap. I’d love to know if the Wyze Cam only uses data when motion is detected. This would be perfect for my setup because it would mean the cam stays idle until it’s actually needed, saving on data usage.
I’ve reached out to Wyze support about this, but I haven’t gotten a clear answer yet. Has anyone else had success with setting this up? I’d love to hear about your experiences or any tips you might have.
On another note, I’ve been really impressed with how the Wyze Cam integrates with my smart home ecosystem. The motion detection feature is spot on, and I’ve been able to set up some really useful automations. For example, when the cam detects motion in the backyard, it automatically turns on the outdoor lights and sends me a notification. It’s such a simple yet effective setup!
I’m also curious about how others are using their Wyze Cams creatively. Do you have any unique automations or integrations that you’d like to share? I’m always looking for new ideas to enhance my smart home setup.
Thank you all in advance for your help and insights. I’m really looking forward to learning from your experiences and sharing my own journey as I continue to explore the world of smart home tech! ![]()
