I recently came across some exciting updates for the Wyze Cam Outdoor, and I wanted to share my thoughts and experiences with the community. The firmware updates mentioned in topic 3, specifically version 4.0.36.290 for the CAM V3 and 1.2.0.93 for the Plug Outdoor, have been a great addition to my setup. The custom motion detection zones have significantly improved my ability to monitor specific areas of my property without unnecessary alerts.
One feature I’ve been particularly interested in is the ability to differentiate between pets and people, as discussed in topic 2. While I don’t have deer in my yard, I do have a cat that occasionally wanders around, and it’s been fascinating to see how the AI handles different-sized heat sources. It’s clear that there’s a lot of thought put into these algorithms to make the system as user-friendly as possible.
I also stumbled upon topic 12, where users are requesting longer motion recording times on Wyze Cam Outdoor SD cards. This is something I can really get behind, as I’d love to have more detailed footage during peak activity times. The suggestion to allow users to adjust the cooldown period is brilliant, and I hope Wyze considers this feedback in future updates.
Another interesting point from topic 19 caught my attention. The idea of enabling or disabling users based on a schedule is something I hadn’t thought about before, but it makes a lot of sense, especially for shared spaces or rental properties. It would add a layer of convenience and security that many users might appreciate.
Overall, I’m really impressed with how the Wyze Cam Outdoor has enhanced my home security setup. The firmware updates have been a breath of fresh air, and the community’s feedback has been invaluable. If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing these features, I’d love to hear them!
Happy tinkering everyone! ![]()
