Exploring Wyze Cam Outdoor Remote Monitoring and Tapo Plug Solutions

I recently installed a Wyze Cam Outdoor and noticed something interesting. While walking away from my house, my iPhone lost the local Wi-Fi connection but still had 5G data. Surprisingly, I could still access my Wyze Cam Outdoor to monitor movements nearby. This got me curious about how it works. Since my camera is connected to my home network, which isn’t exposed externally, how does my phone access it remotely without any extra services? I’d love to understand the underlying mechanism behind this functionality. If anyone has insights or explanations, I’d be grateful to hear them!

On a different note, I’ve been using Tapo P125M smart plugs and had an interesting experience. Initially, they worked perfectly, but recently, one stopped powering on and off. It was still responsive in the app, but the power remained stuck on. After some research, I found that others have had similar issues, often due to relay sticking. I tried the unconventional method of percussive maintenance—gently tapping the plug—and to my delight, it came back to life! It’s fascinating how a simple knock can resolve such issues. I’m now more cautious about relying solely on smart plugs for critical devices but appreciate the potential of troubleshooting through creative solutions.

If anyone else has encountered similar issues or has tips for maintaining smart plugs, I’d love to hear your experiences. Thanks to the community for all the helpful tips and solutions!
