Exploring Wyze Cam Pan v3: Tips and Tricks for Optimal Use

I’ve been using the Wyze Cam Pan v3 for a while now, and I must say, it’s a fantastic device for its price. However, like many of you, I’ve encountered a few quirks that I wanted to share and discuss.

One of the standout features for me has been the motion detection and the ability to integrate it with other smart home devices. I’ve set up a system where the camera triggers my Wyze Bulbs to turn on when motion is detected, providing a great security boost without needing to be home.

But here’s where I hit a snag: after a recent firmware update, the playback feature stopped working correctly. When viewing an event, pressing ‘Playback’ no longer jumps to the exact time of the event. Instead, it takes me to a time very close to the present. I’ve tried everything from rebooting the camera to reformatting the SD card, but the issue persists. Has anyone else experienced this, or perhaps found a workaround?

Another thing I wanted to mention is the camera’s integration withIFTTT. I’ve created a few applets that notify me via SMS when motion is detected, but I’ve noticed that sometimes the notifications are delayed or missed altogether. I wonder if others are facing similar issues or if there’s a more reliable method to ensure notifications are sent promptly.

On a more positive note, the camera’s night vision is impeccable, and the video quality is crisp even in low-light conditions. The two-way audio feature has also been a lifesaver for checking in on pets or kids remotely.

I’m curious to hear how others are utilizing their Wyze Cam Pan v3. Have you implemented any clever rules or automations that make your life easier? I’m always on the lookout for new ways to enhance my smart home setup.

Let’s keep the conversation going and share our experiences and tips! :rocket:
