Exploring Wyze Cam V3 and Zigbee Integration Challenges

Hi everyone, I’m excited to share my recent experiences with the Wyze Cam V3 and my ongoing journey with Zigbee integration. First off, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the Wyze Cam V3’s video quality and ease of setup. However, I’ve encountered a peculiar issue with the audio functionality that I’m hoping the community can shed some light on.

I’ve set up three Wyze Cam V3 units around my home, and while the live view is crisp and clear, the audio has been less than ideal. The live view lacks sound entirely, and even when using the ‘speak’ feature, the audio is barely audible for just half a second. This behavior is consistent across all three cameras, regardless of the USB cable, Wi-Fi network, or device used to access the app. I’ve tried troubleshooting everything from firmware updates to different internet carriers, but the issue persists.

That said, I’ve noticed that when motion is detected or an AI event is logged, the audio kicks in perfectly. It’s almost as if the audio system is on standby until triggered by an event. I wonder if this is a known limitation or if there’s a workaround to enable continuous audio in live view. I’d love to hear from anyone who might have encountered and resolved this issue.

On another note, I’ve also been diving into Zigbee integration with my Zigbee2MQTT setup. Transitioning from a Skyconnect Stick to a Sonoff P Stick has been a bit of a challenge. I’ve encountered a ‘panId already exists’ error, which I suspect is due to my existing Zigbee network still being active despite my best efforts to isolate it. I’ve tried resetting the network and changing the IEEE address, but the issue remains. I’m curious if others have successfully migrated between Zigbee sticks without fully reconfiguring their networks.

This journey has been both frustrating and rewarding. It’s amazing how these devices can enhance our homes, but the learning curve can be steep. I’m grateful for this community, as it’s a fantastic resource for troubleshooting and sharing knowledge. If anyone has insights or tips on these issues, I’d be thrilled to hear them!

Looking forward to connecting with fellow enthusiasts and learning more about these technologies. Happy smart home exploring! :rocket:
