Exploring Wyze Camera as a Dash Cam and Smart Water Reminder

Hey everyone! I’ve been really impressed with the versatility of Wyze cameras lately, and I wanted to share two cool projects I’ve been working on. First, I’ve been using the Wyze V2 as a dash cam in my truck. It’s been a game-changer because it’s compact, affordable, and actually has real Wi-Fi, which is rare for dash cams under $250. I’ve wired it directly to my car’s electrical system and set it to record continuously using a SIM card. Playback is a breeze when the camera connects to my home Wi-Fi, and I’ve even been able to upload some clips to the cloud for safekeeping. I’m really hoping they release a black version of the V3 soon to match my truck’s interior better!

On another note, I’ve also been experimenting with Wyze contact sensors to help my girlfriend stay hydrated. It’s a simple hack but incredibly effective. I attached a sensor to her water bottle and set up a rule so that if she hasn’t taken a sip in over an hour, she gets a notification. It’s been a fun way to encourage her to drink more water throughout the day without being too intrusive. The sensor has worked flawlessly, and it’s been a great way to combine technology with a bit of personal care.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has found creative uses for Wyze devices or has tips for improving these setups! Let’s keep the ideas flowing!
