Exploring Wyze Camera Security and Nest Automation

Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home devices and wanted to share some experiences and questions I’ve encountered. First off, I’ve been using Wyze cameras for a while now, and they’ve been a great addition to my home security setup. However, I recently came across news about a data breach affecting Wyze users. Has anyone else experienced any issues or concerns regarding the security of their Wyze devices? I’d love to hear if there are any best practices or additional security measures I can implement to protect my data.

On another note, I’ve been exploring the automation features of my Nest cameras. I’ve set up a rule where the floodlight turns on at 10% brightness at sunset and increases to 100% when motion is detected. While this works perfectly when I manually test it, the motion detection doesn’t seem to trigger the floodlight automatically. Does anyone have any insights or troubleshooting tips for this? I’m hoping to get this working seamlessly for better home security.

Lastly, I’ve been curious about integrating Wyze devices with other ecosystems. For example, I’d love to know if there’s a way to reset power readings on energy meters without physically resetting the device. I’ve heard that SmartThings has removed this functionality, so I’m wondering if there’s a workaround or alternative method. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!
