Exploring Wyze Cameras and Smart Lighting Solutions

Hey everyone,

I’ve been diving into the world of Wyze cameras and smart lighting solutions lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips with you all. First off, I recently upgraded to the Wyze Cam Pan v2 camera, and I must say, it’s been a game-changer for me. The wider viewing angle and ability to pan and tilt have significantly improved my surveillance setup. I’ve even managed to deter package thieves in my courtyard by strategically placing the camera. However, I do wish Wyze would add more contrast and brightness controls to enhance the video quality, especially in low-light conditions.

On the smart lighting front, I’ve been experimenting with Shelly plugs and Hue lamps. Setting up the Hue lamps was a breeze, and grouping them to act as a single zone has made controlling the ambiance in my dining area much more straightforward. However, I’m still figuring out how to integrate these lamps seamlessly with my existing smart home ecosystem. If anyone has tips on optimizing group controls or using dimmers effectively, I’d love to hear them!

Another thing I’ve been curious about is the use of ARM GCC for embedded projects. I’m working on a Cortex-M4 project and came across some quirks with built-in functions. Specifically, I noticed that some SMLAxy and SMULxy instructions don’t have corresponding built-in functions in ARM GCC, which is a bit puzzling. I’d appreciate any insights or workarounds others might have encountered.

Lastly, I’ve been exploring ways to automate my garage door opener without relying on traditional smart devices. I’m considering Z-Wave solutions or even integrating existing hardware with my smart home setup. If anyone has experience with reliable alternatives to GoControl or Linear units, I’d be grateful for recommendations.

Overall, it’s been an exciting journey exploring these devices and technologies. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!

Best regards,
