Hi all, I’ve recently installed a couple of Wyze cameras and the new Switchbot Curtain 3 motor in my home, and I must say, the experience has been quite positive! While there have been a few bumps along the way, I wanted to share my journey and some tips that might help others.
First off, setting up the Wyze cameras was a breeze. The app guided me through the process, and the cameras are now up and running. One thing I noticed is that turning off my phone’s WiFi did affect the live feed quality, making it update every 15 seconds or so. I was a bit concerned about this, especially since I live in Florida and power outages are a common occurrence. However, Wyze support was quick to reassure me that this is normal and that the live feed should resume once the internet is back up. I’ve tested this by unplugging the camera briefly, and it worked like a charm!
Now, onto the Switchbot Curtain 3. This device has been a game-changer for my home automation setup. The installation was straightforward thanks to the DynamiClamp™, which adapted perfectly to my curtain track. I love the QuietDrift™ mode—it’s so smooth and silent that I barely notice it moving. The integration with the Switchbot Hub 2 and Matter protocol has also made controlling everything seamless. What’s even better is the solar panel option, which has significantly extended the battery life. I’ve noticed a huge difference in how long the motor runs without needing a recharge!
One challenge I faced was integrating these devices with my existing ecosystem, which includes a mix of Z-Wave and Wi-Fi gadgets. I was worried about compatibility issues, but the Matter standard has made things much smoother. I’ve also been experimenting with different control methods, like voice commands and the Apple Watch app, and they’ve all worked well together.
Overall, I’m really happy with both the Wyze cameras and the Switchbot Curtain 3. They’ve added a whole new level of convenience and security to my home. If anyone has questions or tips about integrating these devices, I’d love to hear them! Cheers, and happy automating! ![]()
