I recently purchased the Wyze Doorbell Camera and wanted to share my experience with the community. While I was initially excited about the 3:4 aspect ratio advertised as providing a floor-to-ceiling view, I found the coverage to be somewhat limited compared to my previous Nest doorbell. The vertical aspect ratio didn’t quite capture the wide-angle view I expected, which was a bit disappointing given the price point.However, after some experimentation, I discovered that adjusting the camera’s position slightly helped optimize the coverage area. The sensitivity settings were another area that required tweaking—I initially had them set too low, which resulted in missed detections. Increasing the sensitivity to 50% made a noticeable difference, and bumping it up to 100% ensured consistent performance.One feature I particularly appreciate is the ability to receive notifications even when the camera isn’t actively recording. This has been especially helpful for catching unexpected visitors. While I still miss some of the advanced features from my Nest setup, the Wyze Doorbell Camera has proven to be a reliable and cost-effective alternative.If anyone has tips on optimizing the camera’s placement or settings, I’d love to hear them!
