Exploring Wyze Doorbell Pro and Camera Features

Recently, I purchased the Wyze Doorbell Pro and I must say, it’s been an interesting journey. The device itself is sleek and offers great video quality, but I encountered an issue that I wanted to share and seek advice on. The user manual mentioned a vertical wedge kit that would allow me to see packages laid on the floor. However, Wyze informed me that this kit isn’t available for the Doorbell Pro. That’s a bit disappointing, especially since I rely on my doorbell to monitor deliveries. Does anyone know where I can find a compatible third-party wedge kit? I’d greatly appreciate any leads!

On a more positive note, I’ve been impressed with the camera’s night vision and motion detection features. I’ve also been experimenting with the app’s cloud storage options. However, I’ve heard from others who’ve had issues with cloud recording after upgrading their subscriptions. For instance, one user mentioned that their cameras stopped recording to the cloud after switching to Cam Plus Unlimited. I’m curious if others have faced similar challenges and how they resolved them. It’s a bit concerning, as cloud storage is crucial for remote monitoring.

Another topic I’ve been exploring is dynamic configuration UIs for custom components. I’m working on a state machine helper and trying to figure out the best way to handle user inputs. For example, allowing users to input a list of states, select an initial state, and define triggers and transitions. My current approach involves using string inputs and dropdowns, but I wonder if there’s a more streamlined way to achieve this. Any tips or alternative methods would be invaluable!

Lastly, I wanted to touch on the Wyze app’s new user interface. While it’s more visually appealing, I’ve noticed that the playback controls for live streams and SD card playback are now overlaid on the viewing screen. This makes it harder to navigate through recorded footage, especially in low-light conditions. It would be fantastic if these controls could be positioned below the screen or use a less intrusive overlay. I’d love to hear others’ thoughts on this new UI and any features they’d like to see added.

Overall, my experience with Wyze products has been mostly positive, but there’s always room for improvement. I’m eager to hear from the community—your insights and solutions can make a big difference!
