As an early adopter of Wyze smart home products, I’ve been thrilled with the Wyze Sense Hub, especially its ability to connect V1 motion and contact sensors. However, I recently encountered an unexpected challenge—after replacing sensor batteries, I found that the V1 sensors couldn’t reconnect to the hub. Resetting the hub didn’t resolve the issue, and support indicated that the hub is designed for V2 sensors only, suggesting the use of a bridge on the camera for V1 connectivity.
While I have a bridge, its placement isn’t ideal for centralizing sensor connections, and upgrading all sensors to V2 would be costly. This situation led me to explore alternative solutions, such as integrating third-party devices or finding workarounds within the existing setup.
After some research and experimentation, I discovered that using the bridge alongside the hub, despite its location constraints, was a viable temporary solution. I also reached out to the community for advice, and others shared their experiences and tips, which was incredibly helpful.
This journey has taught me the importance of flexibility and community support in navigating smart home challenges. I’m grateful for the insights shared and look forward to finding a more seamless solution in the future. If anyone has additional tips or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them!
