Exploring Wyze Vacuum Issues and Possible Solutions

I’ve been using the Wyze Vacuum for a few months now, and while it’s been a great addition to my home, I’ve encountered some recurring issues that I wanted to share and explore solutions for. The vacuum is scheduled to clean overnight or in the morning, but more often than not, I find it completely dead, sitting just feet away from the base station. This morning, it was less than 3 feet away, battery totally drained. The only fix is to manually place it back on the charger. I’ve had other less advanced robot vacuums that didn’t have this issue, so it’s been a bit frustrating.

One of the most perplexing problems is the mapping issue. The vacuum frequently gets confused about the layout of the house, altering the map into a funhouse with weird new rooms at strange angles. This confusion leads to the vacuum getting stuck, paralyzed with fear and loathing, just feet away from the charger. I’ve tried resetting the map, but it often reoccurs.

I’ve also noticed that the vacuum runs for about 1.1 hours but only cleans about 10% of the house. It seems like the mapping issues are causing it to spend more time trying to figure out the layout rather than cleaning. I’ve tried adjusting the schedule and the cleaning mode, but nothing seems to help.

I’ve reached out to Wyze support, and while they’ve been helpful, the issue persists. I’m curious if others have experienced similar problems and if there are any workarounds or solutions that I might have missed. Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!

On a positive note, when the vacuum does work as intended, it’s a fantastic device. It’s quiet, efficient, and does a great job cleaning my floors. I’m hopeful that with some adjustments or updates, these issues can be resolved. Until then, I’ll keep manually placing it back on the charger and hoping for the best.
