Recently, I acquired the WyzeCam Pan, and I must say, it’s been an intriguing experience. For the price, it’s packed with features, but there are a couple of areas where I’m hoping for some improvement or clarification.
First off, the camera’s ability to detect motion and record events is commendable. However, the notification system leaves a bit to be desired. While I appreciate the alerts, the delay is quite noticeable—often around 10 minutes. By the time I receive the notification, whatever triggered it is already over. I’m curious if there’s a way to reduce this latency or ensure more consistent notifications.
Another issue I’ve encountered is with the audio functionality. I purchased this camera during a time when there were known issues with Samsung devices, and unfortunately, the volume controls aren’t working as expected. I’ve read that this was a problem before but seems to have been resolved in earlier firmware versions. If anyone has successfully rolled back their firmware or found a workaround, I’d be grateful for the details.
On a more positive note, the camera’s night vision and motion tracking are impressive. It’s been a reliable addition to my security setup, and the app integration with my smartphone has been seamless. I’m also impressed by the customizable detection zones, which have helped reduce false alerts.
I’m hopeful that Wyze will continue to improve the firmware and address these minor issues. For now, I’m satisfied with the WyzeCam Pan, but I’m eager to see how it evolves in future updates. If anyone has tips or tricks to optimize its performance, please share them!
Cheers,
Mike
