Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of BLE sensors lately and stumbled upon the Xiaomi LYWSD02, also known as the Mijia ClearGrass. It’s a sleek device with a built-in digital clock, but I’ve noticed a quirk where the time drifts by about +2 minutes every month if not synced via the Mi Home app. While this isn’t a huge issue, I’m curious if others have found a workaround or if there’s a way to automate the time sync process within Home Assistant.
Currently, I rely on MQTT to connect this sensor to my setup, but I’d love to see native support in the future. OpenMqttGateway already has some support, which is a great start, but having it natively would streamline the integration. If anyone has tips on optimizing MQTT performance for BLE sensors or experiences with native integrations, I’d love to hear about it!
Another thing I’d love to explore is leveraging the sensor’s data more effectively. For instance, combining the temperature and humidity readings with other sensors to create comprehensive environmental monitoring. Has anyone experimented with multi-sensor setups or dashboards that aggregate such data? I’m eager to learn and expand my setup!
Thanks for your insights and experiences. Let’s keep the discussion flowing and help each other make the most out of our smart home devices! ![]()
