Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home integration and thought I’d share my experiences and a little challenge I’m facing. I recently acquired a Water Fountain from Xiaomi Mi and decided to integrate it with my existing OpenHab setup using the Xiaomi Wifi devices (Mi IO) Binding. The setup was straightforward at first glance—device detection via cloud login worked seamlessly. However, I’ve encountered an interesting hiccup with the Power channel. Despite the logs showing state changes, the fountain doesn’t respond as expected.
Here’s what I’ve observed in the logs:
2023-02-25 10:48:01.435 [INFO ] [openhab.event.ItemStateChangedEvent ] - Item ‘kitchen_fountain_xiaomi’ changed from OFF to ON
The device itself doesn’t start or stop, which is a bit puzzling. I’ve also run some tests using the experimental channel, and the results are quite extensive, listing a variety of supported properties. I’m curious if anyone has encountered similar issues or has insights into how to resolve this. The fountain is a great addition to my kitchen, and I’d love to fully integrate it into my smart home ecosystem without any hiccups.
On a lighter note, I’ve also been exploring other Xiaomi devices and their compatibility with OpenHab. It’s fascinating to see how many devices can be seamlessly integrated, but there are always those few that give you a run for your money. I’d love to hear about others’ experiences with Xiaomi devices and OpenHab—success stories, challenges, and tips are all welcome!
Looking forward to your thoughts and any advice you might have. Let’s keep the smart home integration conversation flowing! ![]()
