Hi everyone, I’m relatively new to the world of Home Assistant, but so far, it’s been an incredible journey with a lot of learning and fun. I’ve managed to set up quite a few integrations, but there’s one thing that’s been on my mind lately: streaming music from my YouTube Music subscription to our Sonos speakers through Home Assistant. It sounds straightforward, but I’ve hit a bit of a snag in the process.
From what I’ve gathered, Music Assistant seems to be the go-to solution for this kind of integration. However, when I tried setting it up, I ran into an issue with the YouTube Music provider. The status was showing as red, and there was an error message that I couldn’t quite figure out. I checked the GitHub repository for Music Assistant, and it seems like others have encountered similar issues, but I haven’t found a working solution yet.
I’m curious to know if anyone else in the community has successfully streamed YouTube Music to their Sonos speakers via Home Assistant. If so, what methods did you use? Are there alternative approaches or workarounds that I might not have considered yet?
For now, I’m continuing to research and experiment with different configurations. I’m also looking into whether there are any community-developed solutions or custom components that might bridge this gap. If anyone has any insights or tips, I’d be more than grateful to hear them!
Looking forward to hearing from you all and hopefully finding a way to make this integration work smoothly.
