I’m currently exploring options to replace my INSTEON on/off micro switches with a more reliable Z-Wave or Zigbee device to monitor my pumps. My setup involves a control box that alternates between two pumps, and I use LEDs to indicate their status. The INSTEON system has been somewhat unreliable, causing false alarms occasionally.
I’ve come across the Aeotec nano, which measures wattage, but I’m curious if there’s a device that can directly detect power presence, similar to the INSTEON’s “sense” wire. This functionality would be invaluable for tracking runtime and ensuring my system operates smoothly.
If anyone has successfully implemented a similar setup or has recommendations, I’d greatly appreciate the insights. It would be fantastic to find a solution that enhances reliability while maintaining the essential monitoring capabilities I’ve grown accustomed to.
